Quick search
Belgium is doing well in speed pedelecs. We have three brands that each carve out a clear niche and will compete for it, also on the world stage.
During Velofollies, we encountered Aska Bike, somewhere between the booth of Ellio and Specter. You could easily find them, their red model was displayed high above the booth. We’ve known Aska for a while so we recognized the S-pedelec right away.
Belgian design, also for off-road
With their striking design, they stood out prominently at the fair. We saw their standard model, a very good speed pedelec that can also go off-road, but all our attention still went to the Aska Supercommuter Performance.
This is the standard Aska speed pedelec but with even better components. Yes, even better, Aska really wants to deliver ‘the highest of high-end’ quality. The Pinion becomes a Pinion Smart Shift, the brakes get an upgrade, and the suspension in the frame is perfected so you no longer feel any cobblestones.
The powerful rear-wheel motor from Neodrive ensures smooth acceleration up to 45 km/h. With 1200W and 40 Nm, this is one of the most powerful speed pedelec motors currently available.
Daily Use, All-Around Companion
The design of Aska Bikes is not only focused on aesthetics but also on functionality. The bikes are designed with everyday use and versatility in mind. With the full-suspension design and Schwalbe Hurriccane tires, you can tackle almost any road, paved or unpaved.
The suspended frame is one of the biggest advantages of this speed pedelec. On the one hand, you don’t feel the cobblestones, even at higher speeds. On the other hand, you can take off-road field roads and forest paths, the bike is built for this purpose. Commuting, or bikepacking, Aska seems to be an ideal companion for those who don’t want a car but are often on the go.
The speed pedelecs are built to last, with high-quality materials and components that require minimal maintenance.
Aska Bike at Velofollies
At Velofollies, visitors could take a close look at the Aska Bike and learn more about its design, specs, and the quality of its components. It was clear that Aska Bike does not just produce a bike but offers a complete riding experience.
You could also see an ‘explosive shot’ of the speed pedelec. All components were individually suspended at the Aska booth. The suspended frame, but also the battery, motor, and gearing system.
Aska Bike has proven that they are certainly competitive in the world of speed pedelecs. There is still room for improvement, as is the case for every Belgian speed pedelec brand. However, you can say that they are the pioneers in this niche. Hopefully, we will get the chance to thoroughly test all Aska versions.
